Boyles finishes off the process

We thought that news on Anthony Boyles' recruitment would come after the weekend, but that's why following recruiting can be so much fun at times. Things happen at light-speed, so it wasn't all that surprising to hear that Boyles had pre-empted his Monday decision by finishing the recruiting process earlier than expected.

We received an e-mail from Serra head football coach, Scott Altenberg, about Anthony Boyles status. "Call Anthony. We just called Oregon, Colorado and Arizona to tell them he's committed to Washington."

So, after nearly a month of uncertainty with his commitment to Washington, Boyles will be a Husky come Feb. 7. It's really not a surprise that Boyles will stick to his commitment, but there's been plenty of drama surrounding his recruitment since former Husky wide receivers coach, Eric Yarber, was hired at Arizona State on Dec. 28, 2006. Yarber had become a father-figure for Boyles during the recruiting process, but Boyles had no interest in Arizona State and his love for Washington never really waned.

"Washington is a school I'll be happy at even if I didn't play football,' Boyles said. "My relationship with coaching staff is real good and they have the best coaching staff that I'm comfortable with. Especially Coach (Tim) Lappano (offensive coordinator). I also like big cities and Washington is in a big city."

Boyles said he'll work real hard during the spring preparing himself for summer camp at Washington.
