Thomas makes it official

It's been somewhat of a foregone conclusion and today it was made official, Caldwell (Id.) OL Terence Thomas committed to the University of Washington this morning while visiting campus for today's spring game. Dawgman.com caught up with the big, athletic prospect from just across Washington's eastern border and he said he's happy to be a Dawg.

"I committed to coach (Tyrone) Willingham earlier this morning, probably around 10:30 or so," Thomas said happily. "We were in a meeting with him and I just said I wanted to commit to him and he was really happy.

"He just told me to make goals for myself and to keep working hard and keep my grades up."

While hanging around the campus with some of the other recruits, Thomas got to meet a player who will be signing next February with him.

"I got to meet Senio (Kelemete) and he is a big dude," Thomas said. "He was really cool and we talked for a little while.

"I also got to talk to coach (Mike) Denbrock and he was really happy to have me and said he's looking forward to coaching me when I finally get here."

As for the atmosphere at the stadium, Thomas said he loved it.

"It was great in there," Thomas said. "The stadium is in such a beautiful area and it's right on the water. I loved that.

"It's a good school and the coaches and players were all great too. It's just the right fit for me."

Thomas will now turn his sights toward his team camp in Idaho and a day or two of Washington's individual camp late in June.
