Prince talks about Husky offer

Last year at this time, Washington hadn't offered a quarterback, deciding to wait until their camp at the end of June to make their official offers. This year, the timetable has sped up a bit as Crespi QB Kevin Prince was verbally offered by the Huskies on Friday. spoke to Prince on Saturday shortly after a passing competition and he spoke about his latest offer.

"Oh I was really excited," Prince said. "Washington has always been my top school and coach (Chris) Tormey text'd me and said he had good news for me and that he wanted me to call him.

"When I called him, he said they wanted to offer me and that coach (Tyrone) Willingham would be sending out my official offer (yesterday)."

Even though the Huskies have been Prince's number one school for quite some time, he said he wasn't about to make a snap decision.

"My mom and dad were really excited for me," Prince said. "It's my first Pac 10 school and they're excited for me to have that opportunity, but I still want to hit Boise State's camp and then go up to Washington again and work out for them at the end of the month before I decide anything."

Washington's offer joins the likes of Boise State, Nevada, Air Force, BYU, San Diego State, Utah and Wyoming on Princes offer list.

When spoke to Prince he had just finished leading Crespi to the Passing Tournament championship where they beat Valencia in the finals.

"There were something like 20 schools down here and we ended up winning it," Prince said. "We've got a bunch of talented players and there were a ton of them on the other side of the ball from us, but we competed hard and we ended up winning it."

Prince didn't name a timeline for a decision, but did say he wanted to decide before he begins his senior season.

We'll have more from him later this month after he takes in the final two camps he wants to hit.
