Piper-Jordan an opportunist

Andre Piper-Jordan is a 5-11, 180-pound athlete from Federal Way, Washington and he's glad to get back to playing football. The summer is over, baseball is put on hold and he can concentrate on helping the Eagles get some wins. He did just that last Friday, as Federal Way defeated Rogers 38-13. Even though he's dangerous as a receiver, it was his play defensively that crushed Rogers' hope of a win.

"Things are really good right now," Piper-Jordan told Dawgman.com. "It was a lot of fun getting back out on the field, getting back in the mix." Andre had one tackle, one forced fumble returned 31 yards for a touchdown and a 67-yard interception return for a score against Rogers. He also scored a 17-yard touchdown as a receiver. Federal Way's next game is against Decatur tonight. "That's our rivalry game," he said.

Since September 1st, Washington, Portland State and Nevada called for football and UNLV and Hawaii called for baseball. No offers have materialized yet, but with two sports going for him Andre just might twice as many chances. He went to the UW-SJS game and is thinking about going to the Portland State-Oregon game this Saturday. "I can't take any visits yet because I need to take my tests first," he said. "I'm taking both the SAT and ACT in October. I'm not sure what trips I'll take. I'll probably take one to UNLV for baseball."
