15 Postseason Foes Highlight Hoops Schedule

SEATTLE - Eight home games against NCAA Tournament teams and the NIT Season Tip-Off are featured in the 2007-08 University of Washington men's basketball schedule announced Wednesday by Coach Lorenzo Romar.

The Huskies play at least 14 games against 2007 NCAA Tournament competitors, including two meetings with Final Four qualifier UCLA. The defending Pac-10 champion Bruins visit Bank of America Arena, Feb. 10.

"Our schedule has turned out to be one with a lot of balance," Romar remarked. "We have some tough road games. We play some quality opponents and are participating in a quality tournament, the preseason NIT. We also play a number of home games in front of our fans.

"We really like the schedule, however it is going to be one that is very difficult. We've got to be ready to play.

Eighteen regular-season games will be played at Bank of America Arena where UW posted a 17-2 record in 2007. Washington opens the season with a pair of exhibition games, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. against Concordia (Ore.) and Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. against Seattle Pacific.
