Bartlett athlete has three offers

His Bartlett team is hot. They're playing Anchorage West in the state quarterfinals Friday, and at 7-0, they're the odds on favorite to take the state title. Not surprisingly, Zack Bowman's senior season has been equally stellar with five interceptions and two kickoffs for touchdowns while anchoring a defense that has stifled Cook Inlet competition for the balance of the season.

The 6-1, 185-pound Bowman expects to shine even brighter as the playoffs intensify. "I want to up my level of play. I feel that in the playoff run, I'll do good and I'll be able to showcase what I can do."

Along with this success has come increased attention for this North Star State prospect. "I'm hearing from the USC defensive line coach. Also Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State, Nebraska, Colorado, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Michigan, and Notre Dame." Texas Tech, Texas A&M, and USC have all offered.

"Washington right now," he said about the team showing the most interest currently. I get at least three letters a week from Washington." Bowman has been hearing most from Bobby Kennedy and Bobby Hauck, and his former teammate, current Husky defensive tackle Tui Alailefaleula. "He always tells me that the coaches keep asking about me and stuff."

Bowman has yet to set up any official visits, but with his season wrapping up in mid-November, Bowman will have plenty of unencumbered weekends to head to the lower-48.
