L-O athlete receives another offer

Andy Darkins is a 6-2, 228-pound athlete from Lake Oswego, Oregon, and the Lakers are doing pretty well so far this year. They are at the top of the Three Rivers league with a 4-1 mark, due in part to Darkins' versatility. It's that versatility that has impressed colleges already, and with two offers in tow Andy received a third last week from another Pac-10 school.

"We're 4-1 this year," Darkins told Dawgman.com. "I'm playing fullback, linebacker, tight end and h-back. I'm also on punts and kickoffs too. We're playing well."

With offers already secured from Oregon State and Portland State, where did Andy's third offer come from? "Coach (Rick) Neuheisel called me up on Wednesday and said that he got a chance to see film of me," he said. "He said he liked what he saw and that he was offering me a scholarship and that he would love for me to come up on a visit and see a game. He said he would be staying in touch. I told him I would check out a game, but I'm not sure which one I'm going to go to."

Andy is also in the planning stages when it comes to official visits, and this latest offer has Darkins thinking good thoughts about the Dawgs. "I'm really serious about Washington, but I'm taking things slow right now," he said. "I want to wait and see what happens. I just sent film out to three schools - Stanford, Cal and UCLA. Stanford called recently and said they were really interested in seeing film."
