Washington travels to the desert to play a team that has not played anyone yet. Dennis Erickson may be a great coach, but I have no idea how good his team really is because they haven't played a strong team yet. They looked extremely ordinary against Washington State last weekend in Pullman and only won because the refs took one touchdown away from the Cougars and Alex Brink gave one to ASU by giftwrapping a pick six. I think that after a bye week, Tyrone figures a way to beat them. Washington SHOULD beat ASU at this point in their rebuilding process, and if they don't I'll be extremely disappointed. ASU is not that good, frankly. Jake has had two weeks to work on his touch and accuracy and it will show on Saturday night in Tempe.

Prediction: WASHINGTON 31 - ARIZONA STATE 23
Kim Grinolds, Business Operations, RECORD: 5-0 (1.000)

It's now time. It's time to win. It's time to beat a Pac 10 team with a winning record on the road. It's time to go from learning lessons to winning games. It's time to step it up. It's time for the running game to reappear. It's time for the defense to fly to the ball and tackle. It's time to not just hit guys, but wrap them up and drive them into the ground. It's time for Husky Football to return. It's time. Beat ASU, come home to insane Husky Stadium against Oregon. Husky Football is back starting this week at ASU.

GO DAWGS!

Prediction: WASHINGTON 38 - ARIZONA STATE 24
Chris Fetters, Editor-in-Chief, RECORD: 4-1 (.800)

From hearing the coaches talk this week - it sounds ominously similar to Ohio State week. Except Arizona State has a better QB and receivers, and a running back just as good as Beanie Wells. And being on the road, this is going to be a game where execution is paramount. ASU is leading the league in over 14 points a game created by their defense, so that means Jake Locker and the offense can't make a mistake. I think that's just too much to ask for on the road, and it's only going to take one key theft to spell the difference.

Prediction: WASHINGTON 21 - ARIZONA STATE 28
Scott Eklund, Columnist, RECORD: 3-2 (.600)

It's crunch time for the Huskies. They need to go 5-3 over the next eight weeks to make a bowl game and considering who they have left on their schedule, getting a "W" this week in Tempe is paramount to achieving their goals as a team. On defense the Huskies need to stop someone from running rough-shod against them. They did well for most of the game against USC, but missed tackles allowed the Trojan backs to put up big numbers on them and Ryan Torain is a solid and tough runner. Offensively, Jake Locker needs to get the passing game going so the running game can feed off of it. If not, it could be a long night in the desert. I'm picking the Dawgs in this one, but I'm not overly confident.

Prediction: WASHINGTON 33 - ARIZONA STATE 30
Dick Baird, Columnist, RECORD: 2-3 (.400)

Why are you even reading this prediction? You already know who I'm going to pick to win this one. After such a close call against USC, it's time (well past time) for the Huskies to win a close one. This is the one as Washington wins in the fourth quarter. Locker throws for 200 and runs for 125 and Husky offense comes alive in second half and scores enough points to hold of the Sun Devils.

I wouldn't put it past this team to beat ASU. I just don't have the confidence that they will do just that. I really believe they have it in them. There just isn't enough evidence in my opinion to make a good case out of it. There is trouble in the passing game. Same could be said about the running game to. Defense is on the field too much. We are on the road. I could go on, but what is the point. I want a win against a quality team. ASU at 6 & 0 is just that team right now I think. They are there for the taking. There has been some magic down there. I am feeling a come from behind win! We are due. We are so due!

Rick was way too busy with work, building a hjurt, and putting his pet Wildebeast up for sale on Craig's List to be able tp predict this game. So as his brother, it is my obligation to predict for him. And what I'll tell you about Rico is that he HATES Devils. Particularly Sun Devils named Sparky. Not that he's crazy about Harry the Husky, but he does love Huskies. And for that reason, he's going with the visitors from Seattle. That's his pick and I'm sticking to it.

Prediction: WASHINGTON 41 - ARIZONA STATE 21
Derek Johnson, Columnist, RECORD: 4-1 (.800)

Despite a slight resurgence of the running game and a good performance by QB Jake Locker, the Huskies will not be able to match up with the speed and aggressive nature of the ASU defense. It will set up a must-win scenario against Oregon next week at Husky Stadium.

Prediction: WASHINGTON 20 - ARIZONA STATE 34
Joe Kaiser, Intern Emeritus, RECORD: 2-3 (.400)

The last three games have exposed the Huskies in a number of areas. On offense, they've been unable to move the ball in any way other than via Jake Locker runs, and on defense they've struggled to put any pressure on the quarterback. Those factors don't play in their favor as the Dawgs travel to Tempe to take on No. 14 Arizona State, which are 6-0 under first-year coach Dennis Erickson. Look for the Husky defense to have a hard time slowing down Sun Devil quarterback Rudy Carpenter, a junior with at least two touchdown passes in all but one of ASU's games this year. If the Huskies have any chance to steal this one, they'll have to score. That means they'll need big days from Locker, Louis Rankin, and Anthony Russo. Will there be another Miracle in the Desert? I hope so, but I don't think so.
