Faraimo has three in mind

Salo Faraimo is a 6-0, 203 RB/LB prospect from Vista, California, and Salo already has a couple of college scholarship offers to be proud of. Does that mean he's ready to tackle the recruiting process head on? Not yet. He wants to make sure he's done tackling ballcarriers first, but he does have three schools right now that he's focused on.

"I'll set all of them up after the season is over," Faraimo told Dawgman.com. With a legit 4.5 40, 240-pound bench, 405-pound squat and 31-inch vertical jump, it's no wonder USC and Washington have already jumped in the boat.

"I'm a defensive player," he said. "Coaches like my ability to fly around and get to the ball. Their feedback has been really positive. They like how I run hard and how I'm always around the ball on defense."

He's also a team player and Vista is 3-1. "I don't know about stats," he said. "I just get the job done."

Phone calls have been coming fast and furious lately, with most of them from Utah, Arizona, Fresno State and USC. Salo's top schools right now are USC, Washington, Oregon, with Arizona lurking just behind those three. Here's a quick capsule look, with his thoughts on his leaders.

USC - "In the spring I went there and saw the campus and saw them play. I like the coaches and like how the team plays."

Washington - "They've always been a big program but they keep getting better and better. They like me as a linebacker. They came out and saw one of our spring practices. They said they like how I drop back into coverage and read the offense."

Oregon - "I'm really a defensive guy and I really like how they are aggressive on defense. They always stand out."
