Washington faces yet another Pac-10 foe that they should beat. Yes Cal has the best receiving corps in the league, but their QB Longshore has a bad wheel and their TB Forsett has a bad shoulder. This game is shaping up a lot like the Oregon State game did last weekend, but the Husky defense could not stop the run in the fourth quarter when it counted. I have no reason to believe that Jeff Tedford will lose to Washington, even if the game is in Seattle. And that's depressing.
Prediction: WASHINGTON 27 - CALIFORNIA 33
An upset is what's needed but it won't be easy. I just can't see UW being able to reign in Cal's speed and big play capabilities. The visitors have the edge on speed, special teams, tailback, and coaching. Not sure how you combat that other than maybe some luck and hope that Cal is off of their game, as they have been lately.
Prediction: WASHINGTON 17 - CALIFORNIA 38
Here's the one game during the final stretch where whatever sentimental attachment I might have in seeing Washington pull out a much-needed win will be easily overcome by the logical arguments for why Cal should win, and win easily. Washington is going to miss their quarterback - Jake Locker - and while Carl Bonnell has won a Pac-10 game before, it hasn't been against the caliber of defense he will be seeing Saturday. And since the Washington defense hasn't shown an ability to really shut someone down in the run game when it matters, I fully expect Jeff Tedford to run Justin Forsett 40 times. If he does, the Bears win going away.
Prediction: WASHINGTON 28 - CALIFORNIA 49
With Jake Locker most likely out for the game, the Huskies will need to be almost perfect on offense. They will have a chance to run on the Bears who struggle stopping the run, but ultimately the playmaking responsibilities will fall to Carl Bonnell and what he's able to do against the Cal secondary. Defensively, the Huskies will have their hands full with DeSean Jackson and Lavelle Hawkins and that could spell doom for the Dawgs. I think this one is a shootout, but the Huskies come out on the short end.
Prediction: WASHINGTON 30 - CALIFORNIA 38
Washington is finally going to win a game that they are not suppose, to upsetting Cal in Seattle. Carl Bonnell stars in this one and carries his team along with Louis Rankin who out gains Justin Forsett 176 yards to 89. Huskies win on a Ryan Perkins FG with 1 min remaining and salt it away with an Longshore intercpeiont to seal the win.
Prediction: WASHINGTON 30 - CALIFORNIA 27

Prediction: WASHINGTON xx - CALIFORNIA xx
So maybe no Jake? I remember Bonnell did some nice things last year against Cal. Did 5 INTs to kill that buzz though! Heard Lappano say Carl could start at other Pac-10 schools & many west coast schools. He likes our chance with Carl. Again I think UW can move the ball on most teams. The harbinger is the defense. Be nice to see us eat clock on drives THAT score. Play field position on kicks situations. Give our defense all the help possible. I am afraid Cal will do that with us using Forsett & Jackson. I feel we stay within a TD for most of the game, but just come up a tad short in the end.
Prediction: WASHINGTON 27 - CALIFORNIA 33
My brother is pretty busy right now but I can tell you that he doesn't feel that this Husky team will beat Cal on Saturday. He gave his tickets to me and will watch it from home - I'm wondering how many other fans are going to do that tomorrow.
Prediction: WASHINGTON 10 - CALIFORNIA 31
Cal is as vulnerable as any time in the Tedford Era at Cal. However, the Bears will be desperate for a win. For Washington to have a chance, they will need to stymie the Bears' straight-ahead running attack and intricate passing game. Beyond the semi-struggling Nate Longshore at QB, Cal has the immensely impressive Jahvid Best at tailback and two future NFLers in DeSean Jackson and Lavelle Hawkins at receiver. When you further examine the behind-the-scenes coaching matchup (UW's Baer/Willingham vs. Cal's Michalczik/Tedford) the setting seems ripe for another humbling afternoon at Husky Stadium.
Prediction: WASHINGTON 24 - CALIFORNIA 49
Cal comes to Seattle having lost four of its last five games. They are a team that was exposed after climbing as high as No. 2 in the country a month and a half ago. And they face the Huskies on the road. In that past, this was the kind of game the Huskies would have a reasonable chance to win. These days, unless the Dawgs are playing a complete bottom-feeder, their chances at a victory are remote at best. Look for the struggling Cal offense to get on track against the woeful Husky D, and for Carl Bonnell to get the start in place of Montlake Jake. I don't see any way the Huskies keep Cal to under 30 points, and I don't see any way the Huskies score 30. Brace yourself for another loss folks...
