Willing upbeat after upset

RJ Willing is a 6-4, 290-pound offensive lineman from Honolulu (Hawaii) Kamehameha, and the Kam boys are basking in the afterglow of a hard-fought 41-20 victory over perennial island powerhouse Saint Louis. Willing has been waiting for this win for quite some time.

"It was about time," Willing told Dawgman.com about the win. "It seemed like we were always undefeated until we played them." The Warriors are 6-0 right now, but really have their work cut out for them when Iolani comes calling this Friday.

Loads of schools have been calling RJ recently. "Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Colorado, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Washington State, Oregon State, BYU and Utah," he said. Oregon, BYU and Utah are still the three schools that have stepped up with written offers. "I'm hoping for one from Washington. I'm waiting."

He is mormon but insists that Utah and BYU don't have any advantage when it comes to recruiting. "The only thing they have is that they are teams I can fall back on if nothing happens," he said.

He'll be taking trips to Oregon, Washington, BYU, Arizona and one other school yet to be determined, with only one - BYU - actually scheduled at this time. Willing will be visiting Provo in January, either on the weekend of the 12th or 19th. "The others will be in December, around Christmas break," he said.
