Nicholson setting up trips

Donte Nicholson is a 6-2, 210-pound safety prospect from Walnut (Calif.) Mt. San Antonio College, and the former Washington commit is taking care of business at the JC level. Mt. SAC isn't quite where they thought they would be in the win-loss column, but Donte and crew are finally on track and ready to take care of the rest of the league.

"We're 3-2 right now," Donte told "We lost our first two games. We got off to a rough start with our coaches. We had a new defensive coordinator come in. He came in late and threw everything in all at once. We didn't adapt to it very well at first, but we've won our last three games. I guess we're starting to pick up on it and everything is starting to come together."

And his own play? "I'm getting a lot of knock-down passes," he said. "I'm not always in the right spot where I should be to pick the ball off, but I'm knocking a lot of balls down. I'm leading the team in tackles right now."

Nicholson has plans to visit Washington in November. "We haven't really put the date together but it's going to be sometime between the 24th and 26th, mid-week," Donte said. "It's the only way it could work with my schedule and their schedule. I'm coming up there for two days. Then I'm going to USC December 6th and Oregon December 15th."

And as of right now he's on track to graduate from school in December qualifier, so he would be available in the spring with 3 to play 2.
