Corona linebacker has trio on top

Jonathan Turner is a 6-3, 240-pound running back/linebacker from Corona, California, and even though the Panthers have a losing record so far this year Turner is leading the team in tackles (~ 10/game) and doing his best to minimize the damage in some close, hard-fought contests.

"We've lost some close games," Turner told Corona plays La Sierra this weekend, but after that breather take on cross-city rivals Centennial in two weeks. "They killed us last year 69-12," Jonathan said. "But I think we can take them this year."

With respect to recruiting, Colorado, Oregon, Washington and USC have all offered Turner a scholarship, with the Ducks, Huskies and Trojans in the front for his services. Rick Neuheisel is the coach recruiting Jonathan for Washington. "He just called to see how I was doing, just to say 'Hi'."

Steve Sarkisian is the coach recruiting Jonathan for the Trojans. "He just called to say 'What's up?'," Turner said. He doesn't have any official trips set up yet, but USC, Oregon, Washington and one yet to be determined school will be the official trips he takes. "I'm going to wait until my season is over."

Jonathan is all set to take the SAT on November 2nd.
