QB heading north in November

Richard Kovalcheck is a 6-3, 215-pound quarterback prospect from San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine, and Kovalcheck is getting his official visits in order. He visited Notre Dame back in September and now has two more officials already set up. Are the Huskies in the picture for this prolific passer?

St. Augustine is 3-1-1 so far this year. "I'm starting to get on a roll," Kovalcheck told Dawgman.com. "We've been running the ball a lot." He's averaging 180 yards and one score per game through the air. Richard can already see a change in himself since last year. "I'm a lot more vocal in the huddle this year. There are a bunch of new guys, so I have to lead a lot more. I'm the only returning starter on offense."

On the recruiting front, Washington, Arizona State, Colorado and San Diego State are the schools contacting him the most recently, and he has offers from all of those schools. "I'm going to Arizona State the weekend of the Washington game (10/25), and I'm going to Washington for the Oregon State game (11/8)," said Kovalcheck.

Washington Head Coach Rick Neuheisel is the coach recruiting Richard for the Huskies. "We just talk about a lot of different stuff, whether it's football or recruiting - a lot of stuff," he said. He might go to the game against USC this weekend. "I really like Washington and the other schools that are contacting me right now."
