Carroll gets visitor from Washington

McClymonds (Oakland) OL Allen Carroll is a big and physical prospect that has fast become one of the more sought-after lineman on the west coast. He's got over 15 offers and one of his favorite schools will be getting a visit this weekend. Dawgman.com caught up with the monster from the Bay Area and he talked about his season and how recruiting is coming along.

"We had a good year and we won the championship," Carroll said recently. "We had a tough last game against Castlemont, but we won and it feels good to do that for my senior season."

Carroll will be in Seattle this weekend to check out Washington and he said a recent visit by the coach recruiting him has left him excited to check out the Huskies.

"Coach (Tim) Lappano was down here today and he was really fired up and ready to go," Carroll said with a laugh. "He said they need players like me along the line who can move guys and they had a great year running the ball this past year so they want to keep something like that going."

Carroll said no school leads over another and that UCLA may not end up getting a visit because of the coaching change this year.

"We'll see," Carroll said. "I'm not sure on that yet, but I will visit a couple more schools after Washington.

"I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision for me because this is the biggest decision of my life so far."

We'll have more from Carroll following his visit this weekend.
