Polumbus to pull the trigger this week?

Tyler Polumbus is a 6-8, 240-pound tackle prospect from Englewood (Colo.) Cherry Creek and Tyler just took his official visit to Colorado this weekend and saw the Buffaloes dismantle Baylor 34-0. Was it enough for Polumbus to commit to the local school, or do some other schools, like the University of Washington, have a shot?

"My athleticism," he told Dawgman.com last night when asked what coaches see in his play. "I move very well for an offensive lineman. And I have the potential to put on a lot of weight and still stay mobile. They also really like how I finish every play." And when they talk about being able to add pounds, he's not joking. "By the time I'm done I'll be over 300, I bet."

Tyler runs a 4.9 40, benches 280 pounds and jumps 27 inches in the vertical leap. Last year he was a second-team all-state and first-team all-league selection. He was also an 'Elite 11' selection on offense by channel 53 in Denver.

Colorado, Nebraska, Washington, Arizona, Oregon and Kansas State are the schools actively recruiting Polumbus right now and Colorado, Arizona, Washington, Vanderbilt, Nebraska are the colleges that have stepped up with offers. "Kansas State hasn't officially offered me but they've said that if I wanted to play there I have a spot," he said.

It may all be a moot point for the man from Englewood. "I just took my trip to CU this weekend and it went really well," he said. "I was pretty close to committing." He's already taken trips to Arizona and Nebraska. "If I commit, I'm done taking trips. That could happen pretty soon."
