Dominguez ATH out with injury

Anthony Wheat is a 6-1, 205-pound safety prospect from Compton (Calif.) Dominguez, and something happened to Anthony that you hope never happens to anybody - a season-ending injury. But the colleges that have already offered Wheat haven't backed off and look to follow Anthony's rehabilitation closely. Count the Washington Huskies in as one of those schools.

Anthony had 7 picks before his season-ending injury. "I tore my ACL two weeks ago," Wheat told Thursday night. "I'm going to have surgery tomorrow (Friday) and I'll be back in five or six months."

With offers from Illinois, Michigan State, Arizona, San Diego State, Anthony has received plenty of encouragement lately. "They've been telling me to keep my head up and rehab hard," he said. The Washington coaches were quick to make a call to Wheat. "I talked to them last week. They wanted to make sure they saw me at the game and to keep my head up."

Anthony went to the Washington-USC game and enjoyed himself. "I went to the USC-Auburn game too," he said. "It was a little different. I was looking at both schools this time. Their defenses are pretty good. It was a good game."
