Ikehara Commits to Washington

Mykenna Ikehara, 6'3, 275 lb Offensive Lineman from Kamehameha Kapalama Campus, has given his committment to University of Washington Saturday night, according to Doris Sullivan of the PIAA, who informed Scout.com of the news shortly after hearing from Ikehara - who is currently on his official visit to UW.

Mykenna, son of Adrian and Iolani Ikehara of Mililani, never attended a mainland football camp or clinic. He attended and received top Offensive Lineman awards at the PIAA Evaluation Camp in May 2007, the Just Win Camp in 2007 on Maui, and Brian Derby Offensive Lineman Camps. Mykenna was First Team All-State in both the Honolulu Star Bulletin and the Honolulu Advertiser, as well as a 2007 HUB Classic Senior Bowl Game participant. Mykenna was listed as #26 in the Scout.com West Top 100.

Mykenna told the PIAA right after committing to the Huskies that 'it just felt like a good fit'. Ikehara is a full academic qualifier, carrying a 3.9 gpa. He committed to UW over offers from Hawai'i, San Diego State, UNLV and Arizona.
