Tyler a soft commit?

Casey Tyler is a 6-6, 250-pound tight end/defensive end prospect from Edmonds (Wash.) Edmonds-Woodway, and Tyler has been fiddling with the idea of making a commitment to the University of Washington but something's been in the way, namely an official visit to another school. With fellow Warrior Kyle Trew also looking to pull the trigger soon, the two have some unfinished business in Eugene, Oregon to attend to.

Will the visit to the University of Oregon sway their thoughts south, or will it reinforce an impending decision?

"I'm just talking to U-Dub and Oregon right now," Tyler told Dawgman.com last night. he will be officially visiting Oregon during the Washington-Oregon game in two weeks. He didn't mention Kyle by name, but Trew mentioned earlier that the two of them would be taking in the Husky-Duck game the weekend of the 16th.

Casey is unsure about an offer from the Ducks. "They told me that I could play offense or defense, whatever I want. Then they told me they were going to watch film of me and then call me back, but they never did."

Washington Head Coach Rick Neuheisel was apparently a little clearer in announcing his intentions to Tyler. "Well, I told them that I would love to go there and he (Neuheisel) said that he would save a scholarship for me, and I said alright," Casey said. "But I also said that I'm still looking around and stuff."

Committed but still looking around? Sounds like a textbook soft commit, a term Casey is aware of. "I guess somebody told me it was a soft commit, so I guess that could be it, but I'm still a little up in the air," he said.

Tyler also said that he recently received an SAT score of 980, which means all he has to do is graduate to qualify.

Casey and the rest of the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors play Shorewood on Thursday and if they win that they go to the playoffs.
