Eisenhauer getting kick out of season

David Eisenhauer is a 6-0, 190-pound kicker from Rohnert Park (Calif.) Rancho Cotate, and David has been having a banner season. He has a 41-yard average punting and has only three missed field goals this year. They were from 54, 55 and 62 yards. With a solid resume like that, you would expect some top D1 schools would be calling David, and you would be right.

"Cal, Fresno State, Washington and Stanford," Eisenhauer said, listing off the schools that have been recruiting him the hardest lately. He doesn't have a scholarship offer yet, but expects that to be just a formality by the time February rolls around. "Well, I just found out that Cal had somebody leave, so they might need a kicker. Mark Jensen was one of my coaches at kicking camp this summer. Fresno State wants more film."

David expects to go to the Oregon State game and will also be at the Big Game the weekend of the 23rd, unless the playoffs are happening at the same time.

And his favorites? "Washington, Stanford, California and UCLA," he said. The Bruins are a recent addition to his list. "They were at one of our practices to see Alex Morrow and I happen to hit a 75-yard punt. That got their attention." (laughs)

David acknowledged there's a chance him and Morrow may attend the same college, but it would hardly be a package deal. "We've been talking about how it would be cool to go to the same school," he said. "It would be nice to have a familiar face around, someone you can stick with."
