Hughes has three trips set

Daymeion Hughes is a 5-11, 175-pound athlete from Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw, and Hughes is one of the top football prospects in the LA area. He can play a number of positions and has the speed to get it done wherever he plays. He just received two more offers, bringing his grand total to four and he's set up three official visits.

"Defensively I think I'm having an outstanding season," Hughes told "I have 43 tackles, 9 interceptions and one fumble recovery. I rotate a lot between cornerback and safety. Offensively I have over a thousand yards. I've been moving around between receiver and running back, depending on the team we're playing." He doesn't really care where he plays in college, but if given a choice prefers running back.

"I think I've improved a whole lot. I gained about 12 pounds. I dropped two-tenths of a second off my 40 time." Daymeion runs a consistent 4.5 40, with some occasional drops into the high 4.4's. His speed isn't the only thing college coaches like about Hughes' game. "They like my versatility and my athleticism," he said.

Fresno State and Arizona are newest schools to offer Hughes, following Washington and California. Recruiting interest is coming hot and heavy from Arizona, USC, Washington, Fresno State, Arizona State, Michigan State and Wisconsin right now. He has official visits set up for Oregon (12/6), Arizona (12/13) and Fresno State (12/20), with Washington getting his fourth visit. He's open on the fifth.

Daymeion isn't playing favorites right now. He just took the SAT and scored a 940 so he's fully qualified. He'll be re-taking it in January to see if he can improve his score.
