New name in the desert?

It's no secret that Arizona State is heavily recruiting one of the best local high schools in the Phoenix area - Hamilton in Chandler. It's Terrell Suggs' alma mater. While most of the targeted players are juniors, there is one senior who could feel a need position for the Sun Devils. His name is Daniel Marshall. But there's a team up north that he's calling his current favorite.

He plays cornerback and he stands at 6-1 170, and runs a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash. "I'm real good in my coverage, and I play real physical," Marshall said. "I need to work more on my tackles."

While he may have some things to fix on the gridiron, he's done his homework in the classroom. Marshall has an 1150 on his SAT along with a 3.5 GPA.

Plenty of colleges are taking notice of Marshall's skills. "Arizona State is recruiting me really hard," Daniel said. "Other schools I'm looking at are Washington, Nebraska, Northern Arizona, and Arizona.

As far as official visits go, he has one set up to the school in Flagstaff. "I'm visiting Northern Arizona (1/10), and I'm looking into scheduling visits to Arizona State and Washington. My top school is Washington."
