Fremont WR enjoys Apple Cup

Mark Bradford is a 6-1, 185-pound receiver prospect from Los Angeles (Calif.) Fremont, and he took an official trip to Washington State with teammate Milvon James. He took in the sights, including a phenomenal Apple Cup, arguably the best in the storied history of the in-state rivalry.

I really enjoyed my visit," Bradford told "It was cool." Mark took an official visit to LSU the weekend before and while there were striking differences between the two schools he gave them both high marks. He gave his LSU trip an 8.5 and WSU the same score. "Well, Washington State is in a smaller town, but it's still right up there."

Trandon Harvey was Mark's host the first night, then Chris Jordan took over on Saturday. "They just showed me around town, where they go to have fun," he said.

The game day, though, was the centerpiece of the trip, and everything that surrounded it. "The tunnel from the fieldhouse was really nice," Bradford said. "That was a highlight for sure." Mark acknowledged that the 29-26 triple overtime win by Washington was the most exciting college game he's ever witnessed. "I just watched the game and rooted for everybody," he said. "I was into the game. It was really exciting seeing the teams go after each other in triple-overtime."

He witnessed first-hand how the Cougar coaches and players handled defeat, and he was impressed by their resiliency. "Well, you could tell the coaches were down a little, but they picked it up and made sure everyone looked at the positive things," Mark said. "I think the players were down for a little while longer though."

And there was no pressure from Head Coach Mike Price and his staff to get Bradford to make a decision on the spot. "You know, they never asked me if I wanted to commit," he said. "They told me the offer was still there, but they just asked how I felt. I'm very interested in them and they are right up there right now."

The rest of his official visit schedule looks like this - Washington (12/13), Oregon (1/10) and Notre Dame (1/23). He will also take unofficial visits to USC and UCLA. "I'm going to try and move the Notre Dame trip up to an earlier date," Mark said.
