A new name to remember

Louis Solis is a 6-6, 310-pound tackle prospect from Sylmar, California, and Louis plays on the same team as safety prospect Clarence Simpson. When the Washington coaches were busy discovering Simpson and watching his film, they couldn't help but also look at the big guy playing tackle for Clarence's team. They saw his nasty and his focus. And it wasn't long before they were offering Louis an offer to take an official visit to Seattle to check out the University of Washington

"I can be the nicest guy off the field, but on the field...I just get so focused I don't think about anything else," Louis told Dawgman.com Tuesday night. He describes himself as being more of a tough guy than a technician. He's got a 300+-pound bench to his credit, as well as a 5.0 40-yard dash.

For a big man, Solis has the dexterity and quickness you like to see in a weak tackle. Besides football, Louis plays basketball as either center or power forward. "I'm more of a physical defender," he said. "I like it. You have no pads but you still get to hit people running through screens."

Washington and Fresno State are the two schools recruiting Louis the hardest right now and he has one official visit set up, to UW the weekend of December 20th. He's still looking for his first scholarship offer.
