Michael Horgan to Stanford?

Michael Horgan is a 6-6, 230-pound athlete from Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola and the TE/DE has been starting both ways for Loyola all year. They just beat up on St. John Bosco 38-8 and are gearing up to play Los Alamitos this weekend. Horgan got a big decision out of the way recently, freeing him up to concentrate on winning a CIF Southern Section title.

"I was offered a scholarship from Stanford two and a half weeks ago and committed to them about a week ago," Horgan told Dawgman.com. "I just sent in my application. I know technically they don't like to call it a commit until I'm accepted, but if I get accepted that's where I'm going."

Michael should know soon whether or not he's been accepted. "I think it should take about a week to know," he said. "They put prospects in the front of the line to find out sooner."

So what does this have to do with the Washington Huskies? Horgan has a visit set up to Washington January 10th as a fall-back option. We should know soon whether or not Horgan intends on taking that visit. He hasn't been offered a scholarship by the Huskies yet, but expects to if he takes the trip.
