Bishop Amat tackle has offers

Cesar Rodriguez is a 6-7, 250-pound tackle prospect from La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat, and the Lancers were just ousted from the playoffs by Los Alamitos. That means that Rodriguez is now ready to tackle something new - recruiting. And by the looks of things, he won't have to go far to earn a scholarship offer. Schools are coming to him.

"I'm quick, aggressive and I'll go after anybody, doesn't matter how big they are," Cesar told Wednesday night. "I feel like I'm good at the run and the pass." Rodriguez has played both tackle position for Bishop Amat, so he feels comfortable on either side.

Three colleges will be paying Rodriguez and his family a visit this week, including two Pac-10 schools. "Kansas will be here Thursday," he said. "Coach (Bobby) Hauck from Washington was here tonight and UCLA is visiting on Friday."

So what did Coach Hauck tell Cesar and his family about UW? "He told me that I have a chance to come in and play. You can tell that they really like me a lot."

Rodriguez has offers from Kansas and Idaho and has visits scheduled for Washington (12/20) and Kansas (1/24). "I'm also looking at UCLA, California and Arizona," he said. "Mostly the Pac-10. I'm wide open. I'll probably take all five visits, sit down and then narrow my list down to two or three."
