Stevens visiting Montlake

Craig Stevens is a 6-4, 230-pound TE/LB prospect from Rolling Hills (Calif.) Palos Verdes Peninsula, and Stevens grew up a UCLA fan. With Bob Toledo being fired, things have been turned upside down for a lot of people, one of them Stevens. Now he's wide open and taking a look at all of the Pac-10. One of the schools he's interested in he'll be visiting this weekend - Washington.

"I like both the same," Stevens told Dawgman.com about his versatility playing both tight end and linebacker. "I just like to play football. I have good size, but I just like to go out there and have a good time. I'm pretty aggressive."

He was recently named MVP of his team and was also their Defensive Player of the Year. He was also first-team All-League and All-Area. He runs a 4.7 40.

His official visit to Seattle marks the second trip Stevens has taken. "I've already been to Cal," he said. "It was during the Big Game. It was the first big game I had ever been to. It was awesome. It was really exciting and intense. Cal is recruiting me as a tight end. They told me that I could have a good future there. I'll probably visit Arizona too at some point."

Craig has scholarship offers from UCLA, San Diego State, California, Washington and Arizona. "I'm going to wait to see what happens with UCLA," he said. He also mentioned the possibility of making a quick decision if things feel right. "I'm just waiting for something to pop up. I might make a commitment on the spot, you never know."

Stevens has never been to Washington before. "I've never been to Washington and don't know that much about them," he said. "I'm looking forward to my visit up there. I want to learn about them and see what it's like up there."
