Derrick Bradley trip report

Derrick Bradley is a 5-9, 175-pound athlete from Mukilteo (Wash.) Kamiak, and Bradley went down to Washington this weekend on an official visit. With his commitment already a done deal, Bradley was down there to have a little fun...and do a little business.

"It was awesome," Derrick told "I just went down there and Coach Neuheisel was down there and a bunch of recruits were there too. I told them not to worry, he's a cool guy. Shelton Sampson was my host. He's a really nice guy. He took me out and showed me a good time."

So who is faster? Shelton or Derrick? "I'm not allowed to say," Bradley said with a laugh.

The trip to the Metropolitan Grill was a definitely highlight. "Coach (Keith) Gilbertson ordered for me, so I had the best steak and lobster," Derrick said. "And cheesecake.

"We got to take trips around campus in golf carts. We got a flat tire on ours."

Bradley mentioned a couple of other WesCo studs he met on his visit. "I met Casey Tyler, Kyle Trew and a couple of guys from Los Angeles and Orange County," he said.

And that business stuff? Coach Rick Neuheisel wanted Derrick to help in the recruiting effort. Derrick was happy to oblige. "He just wanted me to help recruit the other guys, let them know that it doesn't rain this much," Bradley said. "And he was just saying how I'm going to be a great one."

Derrick will start out at cornerback and also look at running back. He confirmed with us that, while earlier he was possibly looking to take an official visit to a yet-to-be-determined school, he will not be doing that anymore. Bradley is done with the recruiting process and thrilled to be a Dawg.
