Mebane gives visit a '9'

Brandon Mebane is a 6-1, 260-pound defensive lineman from Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw, and Brandon just got back from his official visit to Seattle and the University of Washington today. So how was the trip? According to Mebane, it wasn't too much different than the other visits he's taken, but there is one thing that is giving the Huskies a bit of separation from the pack.

"All the visits have been kind of like the same in terms of what they do for you," Mebane told Dawgman.com today. "But the winning tradition at Washington is what separates them right now. That and they've got a lot of juniors and seniors on their defensive line, and Coach (Randy) Hart and Coach (Bobby) Kennedy told me I would have the option of redshirting or not redshirting if I went there. They told me I would fit in really good there. They said I could be better than Larry Tripplett."

It looks like the campus tour with the golf carts was a hit with the recruits, including Brandon. "That wasn't something I was expecting. It was cool." Mebane also mentioned that he wants to go into criminal justice and that Washington's academic situation fits his needs. And the weather? "No, the rain didn't bother me."

The Husky coaches told Mebane they have an offer waiting for him, but Brandon wasn't biting. "I told them that I'm going to be making my decision soon but that I'm not sure where I'm going yet," he said. He doesn't have any other official visits set up, but he expects to visit at least one or two other colleges before announcing his decision.
