Jordan Reffett trip report

Jordan Reffett is a 6-6, 260-pound defensive lineman from Moses Lake, Washington, and Jordan just got back from his second official visit to Washington in two years. This one is going to have a happier ending for Reffett. Not only is he now able to enroll (which he'll do January 6th), but he'll be able to join the Washington football team - something that he's been looking forward to for over a year.

"It was just a little different," Jordan said of this year's visit. "It was a lot more fun. I also did more recruiting than I was having my own fun, but I tried to work on a couple of guys, got a couple of guys to commit and it was a good time."

It looks like Reffett was able to produce results. "I worked on Chad Macklin pretty hard," he said. "He loved it up here and decided to be a Dawg. I also worked on those Edmonds boys(Kyle Trew and Casey Tyler). I found out they were soft commits, so I wanted to make sure they were ready to go. There was also a kid named Mark Washington, but he told me he was undecided. He said he was going to take some more visits but it would be great to see him up here. Actually, there were a lot of great kids up here looking to take a couple of more trips but were hoping to make it back up here if everything worked out."

Jordan also took advantage of the 'buffet-style' dining policy enforced this weekend. "I ate a ton," he said. "I weigh more than on my first visit, because on your first visit you're more tentative, but now I ate as much as I could and ate the most expensive thing I could every day."

Will Conwell got a chance to hang out with his old teammate, so it was natural that Will was Jordan's host. "Yeah, we had a lot of fun," Reffett said. "We just hung out and bonded with the team. I start up in a couple of weeks, so I'm real excited to get up there. It's going to be a great experience for me. I'm itching to get in there and practice with those guys. I'm looking forward to working with those d-line guys and Coach Hart is phenomenal. He teaches guys to get to the next level and win championships and that's what I want to do."

Reffett watched the Sun Bowl practices this weekend, and Hart's barking gave him goosebumps. "I was thinking that if this is what it takes, then that's what I want to do," he said. "I like that kind of stuff. I like it when they get on you. You can't let up. If you let up in practice you'll let up in the game so you can't let that happen."

Jordan is going to relax for a couple of weeks, enjoy the holidays and then hit school and the mat drills. "I'm not sure if I'm going to redshirt or not," he said. "It just depends on where I'm at on the depth chart. I want to play, but if I can get an extra year of college and get more years of playing time I'll redshirt, but if I'm in the mix, I'm in the mix."
