'Q' Walks!

Nelson Washington, guardian to former Washington basketball player Senque Carey, updated us this morning as to the condition of 'Q', now at the University of New Mexico. Carey suffered a spinal cord injury during a fall in the first half of the Lobos' game against Northwestern State November 25th. It's been three weeks since the injury, and Washington let us know Carey's immediate plans for treatment.

"We've been down in Albuquerque with 'Q' the past few weeks," Washington said. "He's out of the hospital and walking now. He's still going through physical therapy. He'll be coming back home soon to Palo Alto."

Once back home, Carey will go to Stanford University for more tests and therapy.

Senque has a website, Senquecarey.com, and at the top of the page there is a link to email 'Q' directly. "He checks it nearly every day," said Nelson. Please pass along your best wishes for a speedy recovery.
