Shamburger pulls in Husky offer

When St. John Bosco ATH Will Shamburger got offered by Boise State he was so happy he committed to the Broncos almost right away. However, things have changed a bit over the past month and he recently pulled in two Pac 10 offers including one from Washington, the school his teammate and good friend Keith Price is headed to...

"Coach (Steve) Sarkisian offered me when he was here on Thursday," Shamburger told Dawgman.com on Sunday. "It was cool just sitting and talking with him, he's a good coach and a good guy. I also got to meet coach (Johnny) Nansen too and that was the first time I had met both of them, so it went really well.

"When coach Sark walked into my house and we sat down to talk, he pretty much immediately said he was offering me because he likes my speed and my athleticism and how versatile I am."

During his senior season for the Braves, Shamburger combined with Price to post 36 receptions for almost 600 yards and eight touchdowns on offense and on defense he posted 46 tackles, six sacks and three interceptions from his free safety position.

In addition to his offer from Boise State and Washington, Arizona State recently offered and he also has offers from Washington State and Utah as well.

"I like the thought of playing with Keith in the future, but honestly, I have to go where I fit in best, whether that is with Keith or not," Shamburger said. "Keith and I have spoken about it and he'd like me to come with him, but he said it's my decision so that's cool.

"I don't know much about Washington right now, so I'm looking them up and studying up on their history and what coach Sark likes to do as well.

"They like me at receiver or free safety. It really doesn't matter to me as long as I can help the team and get out there and play, that's what really matters."

Shamburger scheduled his official visit to Washington for January 16th and has already visited Arizona State and Boise State.

We'll continue to track his progress and update his recruiting as things change.
