Burnett looking at four

Martail Burnett is a 6-3, 210-pound athlete from Los Angeles (Calif.) Jordan, and Burnett is one of those players that has been bubbling underneath the surface when it comes to prospects looking at Washington. We talked to Martail last night and he gave us the scoop on who has offered him, what trips he has set up and who his leaders are.

"Coaches like me because I hustle on every play. They like that a lot," Burnett said. "I can get to the ball in a hurry." Jordan lost in the semis of the LA City Invitation to Narbonne, but that didn't stop Martail from having a great season in his own right. He had 9 touchdowns on offense playing receiver and tight end and over 100 tackles on defense. Defensively he played linebacker and strong safety. His last recorded 40 time was 4.67 and his vertical jump is 35 inches.

Kansas is Martail's current leader, and he'll be visiting Lawrence January 17th. The Jayhawks and Washington Huskies are the two schools to have stepped with scholarship offers for Burnett. "I've also been hearing a lot from some smaller schools, like Portland State and Northern Arizona. I'm visiting Utah State on January 10th," he said. "I want to set up a visit to Washington but I don't have a date yet." Bobby Kennedy is the coach recruiting Martail for the Huskies.

And the rest of Burnett's leaderboard? "I like Kansas, Cal, USC and Washington," he said. "I'm getting close to a decision but I want to wait a little bit longer."
