Dirkmaat to visit Washington

David Dirkmaat is a 6-7, 260-pound offensive tackle prospect from Fresno (Calif.) City College, and the former San Jose (Calif.) Silver Creek grad had orignially intended to go to Fresno State after his time at FCC. But things have changed lately, so that means David will be taking some official visits before making up his mind. One of the schools he'll be visiting is Washington.

"I just went to Louisiana Tech last weekend," Dirkmaat told Dawgman.com. "I had a good time." So why the falling out with Fresno State? "They tried to intimidate me. I'm done with them."

David played defense last year but switched to offense and it immediately paid big dividends for FCC. He was All Conference this past season."I'm quick and fast," he said. "I had around 4 pancake blocks a game."

Besides Louisiana Tech, Dirkmaat will visit Washington this weekend and is also considering South Carolina and West Virginia. But it's always been his desire to play in one particular conference. "I've always wanted to play at a Pac-10 school, so I would love to play at Washington," David said. The Huskies haven't offered yet, but if they did on his visit, would he accept it? "I probably would," he said.

Stay tuned for more on David. We'll be in touch with him after his visit.
