Mapu switches course, signs with UW just got off the phone with Mesa DE Mike Mapu, who confirmed that he has sent in his letter of intent to play football for the University of Washington. Two days ago, Mike had verbally committed to Oregon but since has had a real struggle choosing between the Huskies and Ducks.

"It was really hard for me, I couldn't sleep at all last night," Mapu said. "My Dad helped me out with the decision and told me that Washington was a nice place to go." Mike said he faxed in his decision at 10AM this morning, so as long as Washington received the fax it's binding. "When I told the Washington coaches, they were really happy," Mike said. He'll be enrolling in the spring, as he is taking classes winter quarter at Mesa. He is on track to graduate after winter quarter and then will move up to Seattle in March to join the team for spring football.
