Trip Report: Jeremiah Tofaeono

Washington's coaching staff has a pressure packed three weeks to put the finishing touches on the 2009 recruiting class and they got off to a rousing start this weekend with several commits. One player who was a late addition to the visit list was Cheyenne (North Las Vegas, Nv.) DT/OL Jeremiah Tofaeono and he recently returned home after his visit to Montlake. Here's what he had to say...

"I had a great time, a great time," Tofaeono told on Sunday morning shortly after arriving home in Nevada. "It was a lot of fun getting up there and meeting with the coaches and the players.

"My host was Alameda Ta'amu and we talked about things and what is great about the program and how they are going to get back to their winning ways soon. He told me why he loved the program and how great the new staff up there is and that was really important."

On visits it's customary that players overindulge when they are at the dinner table and Tofaeono was no different.

"Oh man, they fed us good," Tofaeono said with a chuckle. "I think they fed me too good, I'm gonna need to do some running."

Besides the good food, Tofaeono said the highlight of his trip was going out the tunnel onto the field.

"We ran out onto the field through the tunnel," Tofaeono said. "That place is amazing and it's a place I would love to play at.

"I thought about committing, but I didn't. I just wanted to get back and talk with my family and coach (Nick) Holt and coach (Steve) Sarkisian are both coming to my house for an in-home on Wednesday. I'd say if things go well in talking with my family, there's a really good chance I'll commit."

Tofaeono has a visit scheduled with Utah next weekend, but he admitted if he commits to Washington he most likely will not take that visit.
