Trip Report: Nate Fellner

He committed to the old Washington staff back in the summer, but since then Clovis West (Fresno, Ca.) S Nate Fellner had softened his commitment to the Huskies. Now that he's gotten to take his official visit to Montlake and meet again with the new staff, Fellner said he's pretty much done with recruiting, although he may still meet with one other school...

"Man, I had so much fun," Fellner said Sunday morning. "I loved it how they got us all hyped like it was game day. They basically said it was gameday versus LSU and they had us run out of the tunnel and there was smoke going and they had us run out and they were getting everyone really hyped up and it was really intense.

"I had a lot of fun with it."

FB Paul Homer was Fellner's host and the two bonded on the trip.

"He and I just hung out and got to know each other," Fellner said. "It was just a really good chance for me to get to know guys and make sure I still wanted to play up there.

"I'm pretty much sold on U-Dub. I'm not going to take any more trips. I might still meet with Colorado, but right now I'm pretty sure I'm going to sign with Washington."

Fellner said one thing that put his mind at ease was how he was going to be used by the new staff.

"They are going to start me out at strong safety," Fellner said. "They said they will use their safeties in a lot of the same way they used them down at USC.

"The safeties will be interchangeable and both will play close to the line at different times, so I could play either one, but I'm going to start off at strong safety and that's really cool."
