Robinson commits to Huskies was able to confirm Sunday that Chris Robinson, a 6-foot-1, 270-pound defensive tackle from Tustin, Calif., has verbally committed to Washington over a previous commitment to Nevada.

"Yes, I committed (to Washington)," Robinson said Sunday. "I knew I was going there when I took my trip (to Seattle)."

Robinson said the highlight of his trip was running out onto the field with the rest of the recruits.

"They had us put on jerseys and then head down the tunnel," Robinson said. "It was crazy and a lot of fun. They had us going through pregame and hyping up the crowd and stuff, it was pretty crazy down there."

Robinson said he and his host, LB Mason Foster, knew each other from back in high school and that helped sell him on the program, but ultimately it was his relationship with the coaching staff that helped him decide to commit to the Huskies.

"Mason is a cool cat," Robinson said. "He and I have known each other for a little while and he broke it down for me.

"He said with the new staff there, they are going to make all the difference and get Washington back to playing good and winning again. That's all I needed to hear because I was sold."

As a senior in 2008, Robinson posted 48 tackles and 11 sacks while earning MVP honors for linemen in his league and First Team All-County as well as First Team All-CIF as a defensive tackle.

Robinson also noted that Washington is recruiting him as a nose tackle and that he won't be taking any more visits.
