Trip Report - Taniela Maka

Scout.com spoke Sunday with Taniela Maka, a 6-foot-1, 225-pound linebacker from Jordan High School in Long Beach, Calif. Maka, a current UCLA verbal commit, took an official visit to Seattle this past weekend to see the University of Washington. How did the Huskies stack up?

"Yeah, it was fun," Maka said, noting that freshman DE Everrette Thompson was his host. "I got a feel for how they do games there and got to meet the coaches." He also mentioned hanging out in Husky Stadium as a personal highlight.

So with Maka already committed to one school, did the Huskies make a dent? "Washington is a cool school," Maka said. "But I've got to talk to my family about it. It's hard, all this recruiting stuff that goes on."

Maka said that he planned on making a final decision on Signing Day, but also admitted that if Signing Day was today, he'd be going to UCLA. "I would say that," he replied.
