Trip Report - Semisi Tokolahi

Semisi Tokolahi, a 6-foot-3, 290-pound defensive lineman from Hilo High School on the big island of Hawai'i, verbally committed to Washington at the end of last year, but wanted to explore his options. He has already visited Washington State and Oregon State, and was able to experience what Washington was like this past weekend.

"It was great," Tokolahi said. "It was just too much. It was great over there."

Tokolahi, at the airport Sunday to catch a ride back to Hilo, confirmed there were four other visitors from Hawai'i on the trip, but wouldn't name them.

Asked about his previous commitment, Tokolahi made it clear he wants to be a Husky. "This is solid already," he said of his pledge. He mentioned the new coaches as the reason for his commitment.

"Coach Sarkisian, Coach Holt," he added, also mentioning that talking to them was the highlight of his trip. "They are nothing but business-type guys. They were talking about how they are going to turn the program around and I like the way they have that mindset."

The UW staff has told Semisi that they like him at either nose tackle or defensive tackle. "I guess they like my raw strength," he said, also noting that he's not quite sure what his current bench press max might be

Tokolahi may go to Baylor for his final visit, but didn't sound too sure if he'll take that trip or not.
