Cesar Rodriguez trip report

Cesar Rodriguez is a 6-7, 250-pound lineman from La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat and Cesar was in Seattle this weekend to officially visit the University of Washington. He's a lean and mean lineman, the question is - can he add the pounds necessary to make the jump to D1 ball?

"Coach (Rick) Neuheisel likes me a lot, but they do want me to put on more weight," Rodriguez told Dawgman.com today. "Coach (Brent) Myers said he likes my height and agility. He said that when I'm on my man it's hard for me to get beat."

Jason Benn was Cesar's host. "I went to Seattle on Thursday," he said. "Jason just told me how you get used to being away from home after a while. He said that it took some time to adjust." Rodriguez also got to know one of the current starters on the Husky offensive line. "I met Khalif Barnes. He's a nice guy. He told me that if I went up there that I would have a good chance to play."

Cal is getting in touch with Rodriguez to set up an official visit and he already has one lined up for Kansas (1/24). "I'm still waiting to see how things come down," he said.
