Quintin Daniels trip report

Quintin Daniels is a 6-0, 170-pound athlete from Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola and Quintin just took his first official visit to Seattle to check out the University of Washington. He had plenty of nice things to say about the city, the school and the people that make up the Huskies' football program.

"I had a fun time up there, I enjoyed it a lot," Quintin told Dawgman.com Sunday. "James Sims was my host. He was really cool. All the players and coaches up there were really cool. They treated you the way you would like to be treated."

And the highlights? "Besides the eating?" he queried. "I'd have to say that the sendoff to the Sun Bowl party was a lot of fun. They had players and coaches there and other people that hadn't left Washington for the holidays yet. It was a lot of fun."

Daniels mentioned Sonny Shackelford and Clarence Simpson as a couple of the recruits he enjoyed talking to. "I also talked to Dwight (Stephenson), from Florida. And that player, Tank (Terry Johnson)," Quintin said. "Man he was a funny guy."

Bobby Kennedy was Quintin's position coach for the trip. "I like the way they run their practices," he said. "They are going full speed all the time. It looked like they were all doing their job, but having fun too. Coach Kennedy showed me how their offense is run and told me that since I'm a pretty smart guy that I shouldn't have any trouble picking it up. He quizzed me during the practice and I had some of the answers so he liked that."

Daniels also spoke with Rick Neuheisel. "I like him a lot," Quintin said. "He knows that I have other visits I want to take, so I told him that I would let him know what my decision is after I take my visits." He's going to Stanford January 10th, California the 17th and UCLA the 24th.

"But I liked my trip to Washington a lot. I would give it an 8 or 9. Everything was perfect. It didn't even rain." (laughs)
