"Thing were just great there," Potoae told Dawgman.com. "To be honest, my mom and dad and I just went up there hoping to get to know the coaches and to talk to them, but they just ended up blowing us away.
"My dad is a real inspiration for me and when you see him get blown away with something, it means a lot.
"At the end of things I just told them I wanted to come to Washington and judging by the looks of coach (Steve) Sarkisian and his facial expressions he was really happy."
The 6-foot-3, 285-pounder said he's happy to have things done even though they barely got started.
"I like knowing that I will be close to home and be at such a great school," Potoae said. "I'm glad I already know where I'm going to play college football."
Potoae said besides his offers from Washington and Washington State he was also hearing from most of the Pac 10 as well as schools from around the west and midwest.
Now that he's made his choice, Potoae is going to work on two teammates -- TE/DE Darius Waters and WR Jamaal Kearse -- with Washington offers.
"I'm going to be in both of their ears talking to them about playing with me," Potoae said with a slight chuckle. "I would love for them to come and play with me up there."
Only time will tell if Washington is as successful with the other Lancers as they were with Potoae.
