Moore gets two offers on the same day

Bellevue DT Julious Moore took a trip across Lake Washington today and got his official offer from Husky head coach Steve Sarkisian and also got some good news from the other side of the mountains. He updated on Wednesday night to let us know how things went while he was on Montlake.

"Coach (Butch) Goncharoff talked to me and said I needed to go over to U-Dub to meet with the coaches and while I was there I picked up my official offer," Moore said excitedly. "I got to meet the coaches and just talk about some things with the people over there.

"It was real cool."

Moore also got good news when he headed back to school.

"Coach Goncharoff also told me Washington State had offered me today, but I just haven't gotten the official letter yet," Moore said.

Moore played both ways for the Wolverines in 2008, but he made more of an impression on the defensive side of the ball and he said that is apparently where the Husky coaches like him.

"I'm explosive and I'm strong so they like that I can hold my ground and be good there," Moore said. "I think they like me either at end or at tackle and I honestly really don't care, I just like to play and get after it."

Aside from his two in-state offers, Moore is also hearing a lot from Boise State, Oregon, Oregon State and Cal.

"I actually almost committed to U-Dub just because with the new coaches there and the changes that they've made, it shows that they want to win and they want to do it fast," Moore said. "They are definitely my leader and they would be even if they hadn't offered me yet, but I want to take some time and check out a few schools and just see what else is out there.

"The recruiting stuff is all pretty new to me so it's not something I really need to rush into. I know I want to make a decision before my season starts so right now that is when I will plan to make a decision."

Moore said he plans to attend quite a few Washington practices this spring while also heading over the Pullman with former teammate and future Cougar Jamaal Atofau.

"He's working on me to go over with him and I'll probably do that," Moore said. "I'll meet the coaches and see what they have to offer, but Washington is definitely my leader."

As a junior Moore posted 34 tackles and nine sacks and he claims a 4.8 forty time and he said he recently maxed on the bench at 330 pounds.

We'll continue to track Moore's progress and update things as they happen.
