Huskies drop offers on Edison duo

The Husky coaching staff continued their torrid pace in extending offers to 2010 recruits and two of the prospects that received them today are a pair from Edison (Fresno) -- DT Wesley Flowers and DB Tevin McDonald. Dawgman.com spoke with Flowers earlier and he filled us in on things and what it means to have an offer from Washington...

"I was just in shock," Flowers told Dawgman.com shortly before dinner on Wednesday evening. "I had a lot of schools coming after me after the Army All-American Combine in Texas in January, but I had never heard from Washington and then I got on the phone with them this afternoon and they were like 'we saw your film today and we really liked it a lot' and then they offered both me and Tevin."

Flowers played both ways for the Tigers, but he said Washington is looking at him on the defensive side of the ball.

"They said that they liked my quickness and aggressiveness and they could tell I liked playing defense better," Flowers said. "I'm fine with playing either end or tackle, I just want to play defense because I like to hit and I like being really aggressive."

Besides his offer from Washington, Flowers also claims and offer from Fresno State and he's getting attention from Stanford, Arizona, Colorado, San Diego State, Oregon and most of the Ivy League schools.

Flowers said both he and McDonald will be in Seattle next month to take in a couple of Washington's spring practices and that both would like to end up going to the same school.

"I've never been up to Seattle so it will be a lot of fun getting to see some football and to check things out," Flowers said. "With Washington offering both of us, that is definitely going to be a consideration for us and where we end up because we want to play together."

We'll have more from Flowers in the coming weeks as the spring evaluation period gets under way.
