Young to become a Husky

Ever since he reeled in an offer from Washington, rumors have flown that Auburn LB Chris Young had already committed to the Dawgs. Those rumors proved false, but on Friday afternoon, Young's father confirmed that his son intends to commit to the Husky coaching staff this evening.

"I can confirm that Chris is going to commit to the Huskies tonight when we talk to them," Young's father Godfrey told Dawgman.com.

Young is a player that was a force on both sides of the ball for Auburn in 2008, posting over 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground, catching four passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns and throwing one touchdown pass on offense, but it was his performance as a hard-hitting safety that he made his name notching 62 tackles and two interceptions for a team that went 11-1.

Young has received heavy interest from schools like Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State, California and UCLA, but it appears he's going to stay close to home and become a Husky.

We'll have more from Chris later this evening after he speaks directly to the Husky coaches.
