Two lead for Porter

A regular attendee of Husky football practices has been Redmond OT Colin Porter. He's been seen at almost all of Washington's seven practices and he took in Saturday's scrimmage at Husky Stadium. Afterwards, Dawgman.com caught up with the talented offensive lineman and he updated us on things including which two schools have taken the lead for him so far in the recruiting process...

"It was a lot of fun," Porter said of Washington's scrimmage. "They got after it and it's been really fun getting in and seeing the meetings with the coaches. They are like nothing I've ever seen before.

"The coaches all came in and had a drum they stole from the band or something and they were banging on it and getting all the guys worked up and it was pretty cool how they did it."

Washington is currently Porter's only offer, but another Pac 10 school appears to be pulling away from the rest of the pack as well.

"Oregon has been recruiting me really hard," Porter said. "They've been after me for a while and I'm going down there for their junior day on May 2nd.

"Right now it's Washington and Oregon as my leaders."

Besides the Huskies and Ducks, Washington State has been recruiting Porter along with California, Utah, Wisconsin, Oklahoma and Michigan.

"I'm not close to making a decision right now," Porter said. "I just want to go through the process and make sure I make the right choice. I'm not really in a hurry."

Porter said he expects to make Washington's spring game on April 25th.
