One team to beat for Chatman

Dawgman.com caught up with Greg Chatman, a 6-2, 195-pound athlete from Carson, California, and Greg gave us the full story about his recruitment. The speedster has one trip set up for this weekend and one more next weekend. After that, is Greg done with taking visits?

"I'd like to make Washington my home," Chatman said this afternoon. "Coach (Cornell) Jackson has talked to me about offering me as an athlete, but he said a lot of it depends on Coach (Rick) Neuheisel. I just want to be a Husky and get on the field as fast as I can. Coach Jackson said that I could be a great receiver and fit in with Reggie Williams, be a good match. I agree with that."

Greg's already taken a visit to Colorado State (12/13). "It was pretty nice out there," he said of his time in Fort Collins. "They treat you really good. But it was cold."

Chatman will be visiting Seattle this weekend and then has a visit scheduled for Oregon State the weekend of the 17th. Scholarship offers have come from Colorado State, Utah and Utah State. "Kansas said they are going to offer me too," Greg said.

Greg is known in LA football circles as a burner and a great athlete. He claims a 4.41 40 and a 10.8 100 meter time. His PR in the 200 is 22.6. "I think coaches like me because of my speed and my hands," he said. "I'm a smooth runner. I think a lot of that comes from running track."
