Three tied at the top for Wright

Corona (Ca.) CB Demetrius Wright has a list of offers that would make almost anyone jealous, but while he isn't ready to narrow his list of schools down, he said three are standing out above the rest. Dawgman.com caught up with the gifted defensive back and he updated us on things including when he'd like to visit Seattle to take a look at the Huskies.

"I have a lot of offers and it's definitely been a blessing to me," the humble Wright told Dawgman.com. "I've worked really hard to get to this point and it's motivating me to work that much harder now."

Wright currently has offers from Washington, Oklahoma, USC, Florida, California, Arizona, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, Oregon, San Diego State, Nebraska, Miami and Minnesota, but he said he's got three right at the top.

"Washington, USC and Florida are the top three, but I'm not ready to eliminate anyone yet," Wright said. "It's still early and I need to check out a bunch of schools, but those are the three that are recruiting me the hardest and they are the three I'm most interested in right now.

"Coach (Demetrius) Martin is recruiting me for Washington and he's real cool and intense. He loves talking football with me and it's great that I get a feel for who my position coach would be and how he would coach me.

"He said they are building stuff at Washington and he said I could be a great player at SC or Florida, but at Washington I could come in and be a building block for what they are doing up there."

So with so many offers from several Top 10 programs, why is Wright considering a school that went 0-12?

"Mainly it's coach Martin and coach (Steve) Sarkisian and how they are going to bring that place back to where it always was," Wright said. "I've been doing research on them and they have a great history and tradition. They've just had troubles up there recently and it's something I could see myself being part of and building it back up.

"I could also come in there and challenge for time right away. I mean, they have players there and I know I wouldn't just be handed a spot, but I'm real confident I could go in there and play early because of what I can bring to the table and my competitive nature."

Wright said he plans to visit Florida and possibly Oklahoma this summer and said he hopes to get to Washington too.

"If I don't make it up there this summer, I'm definitely taking one of my officials there," Wright said. "I'll head up there with Jordon (James) for a visit and we will both get to check it out.

"Originally he and I talked about going to school together and with all of the offers we have we might be able to do that, but it's going to be about where I fit in best and where he does and if that happens to be the same school that would make it that much better."

We'll have more from Wright as we head into summer.
