Dawgman on KJR Show to Debut Saturday

Scott Eklund, Chris Fetters and Kim Grinolds of Dawgman.com will debut the Dawgman on KJR Show Saturday morning with a special three-hour edition, going from 9 a.m. until noon. It's part of an 11-week run where the Dawgman guys will talk about the hot recruiting topics of the day, and also be available to answer your calls, emails and texts.

For the Saturday show, they will have two special guests - both big-name high school coaches in their respective states.

At 10:05, the Dawgman crew will speak with Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian Head Coach Bill Redell on a few different topics. The first will be about his quarterback, Nick Montana, and his decision to verbally commit to Washington over a host of other Division-1 programs. They will also talk to Redell about his other top prospects, where he thinks they might land in college, as well as the highly anticipated matchup between his Lions and the two-time state champions from Skyline up on the Plateau Friday, September 18th.

Their special guest in the 11 a.m. hour will be Lakes Head Football Coach Dave Miller. Coach Miller is arguably one of the top prep coaches in any sport in the greater Puget Sound area, and we will talk to him about his incredible class of 2010 prospects, including UW commits Sione Potoae, Jamaal Kearse and Darius Waters.

There is a ton more to talk about, including the verbal commitment of Jake Heaps to BYU, the subsequent verbal commitment of Montana to Washington, and what that might mean for both teams going forward in the recruiting process. We'll also talk about Bellevue DT Julious Moore, and his decision to attend UCLA. We'll do a quick wrap-up of commitments from around the Pac-10.

Fetters was in Hawai'i for two weeks, attending two high school football combines, and will share his thoughts on prospects he saw that are seriously considering the area schools, and Grinolds flew down to Los Angeles to the Scout.com LA Combine to find out just how well the Washington Huskies are recruiting that fertile ground. He came away impressed.

There's also a number of camps and passing leagues going on right now: Washington will have a Big Man camp this weekend, and Skyline is putting on a big Passing League Tournament and Big Man Challenge of their own. It's the start of camping season, so expect a lot more news and announcements about events happening all over the area.
